Paul W. Bass

Mr. Paul W. Bass wrote the biography “No Little Dreams” about Henry G. Bennett. As Mr. Bass gathered material for the biography, he met with Dr. Bennett’s family members who assisted him in the process of writing the book. The descendants of Dr. Bennett gathered for a reunion in 2007 to celebrate the centennial of Dr. Bennett’s 1907 graduation and to highlight his life and accomplishments. A proclamation from Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe was presented to Mr. Tom Bennett, son of Dr. Henry G. Bennett. Mr. Bass also initiated a debate/speech scholarship in the name of Dr. Bennett.

Mr. Bass worked with the Oklahoma Historical Society and Bennett family members to set up a permanent display about Dr. Bennett at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City in 2007. In addition, Mr. Bass coordinated Bennett family donations of materials and artifacts now on display in the Point Four room at the Wes Watkins Center at Oklahoma State University.

His professional experiences include church staff positions in Missouri, Arkansas and Alabama for nineteen years prior to serving as the director of campus activities at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas. Mr. Bass continues to serve as pastor of Anchor Baptist Church in Donaldson, Arkansas.

Mr. Bass earned a bachelor’s degree from Southwestern Baptist University and a master’s degree in religious education from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Missouri.
