Chinese delegation from SWJTU visits OSU
A Chinese delegation from Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) recently visited OSU on Feb 2nd, 2018. The delegation was led by Chief Manager Mr. Kaining Tang of National University Science Park. Other delegation members include Associate Dean Dr. Hongxia Sun of the Research Institute and Director Liu of Technology Incubator Center and Dr. Peijun Wang of Mechanical Engineering at SWJTU. The purpose of their visit was to learn about OSU technology commercialization process. The delegation visited OSU Technology Development Center and OSU Riata Center for Entrepreneurship and learned about programs and services available to support OSU faculty, staff and students’ creative initiatives and scholarly research for commercialization. The delegation also met with Dr. Randy Kluver of School of Global Studies and Dr. Randy Seitsinger of CEAT about the current collaboration and partnership.
SWJTU is the leading institution in Chinese higher education system in commercializing advanced research. Their innovative pilot technology transfer program since 2014 has launched over 20 start-up companies by SWJTU faculty members. Southwest Jiaotong University is OSU longtime strategic partner in China. OSU signed a memorandum of understanding with SWJTU in 2007. Since then, OSU and SWJTU has enjoyed a fruitful partnership including student joint degree programs, faculty-training program and student affairs staff exchanges. The visit may yield future joint research or joint technology transfer programs.
