SGSP Dean Visits Several Chinese Universities
STILLWATER, Okla. – Randy Kluver, Dean of the School of Global Studies and Partnerships, visited several Chinese universities March 19-24. Kluver traveled with a delegation from Oklahoma State University to Fudan University, China Agricultural University, Southwest Jiaotong University and Tianjin University.
The delegation also attended the One Belt One Road forum at CAU, joining representatives from more than 50 Chinese agriculture-focused universities and more than 30 overseas universities. The One Belt One Road initiative is a large infrastructure project initiated by the Chinese government that is designed to improve international trade. At the forum, Kluver joined a panel discussion on opportunities and challenges for universities because of the initiative.
At each university, the OSU delegates met with representatives to discuss both current and potential exchange programs. At Fudan University, the delegates met incoming Fudan exchange students and OSU exchange students who are currently studying at Fudan. The delegation also visited more than 20 incoming exchange students from SWJTU.
The OSU delegation visited Fudan University School of Journalism and met incoming Fudan exchange students and OSU exchange students who were studying at Fudan.
Beijing—China Agricultural University
The OSU delegation attended CAU’s One Belt One Road forum, where Dean Kluver participated in a panel discussion.
Chengdu—Southwest Jiaotong University
The OSU delegation with officials from the School of Geosciences and Environmental Engineering to discuss the OSU-SWJTU joint degree program in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering.
During the OSU delegation’s visit to Tianjin University, they toured Tianjin University’s new library, the School of Science, the School of Architecture Engineering and the School of Precision Instrument and Optoelectronics.
